Nana Yaw Appiah is an Entrepreneur with biomedical and electronic engineering background. He started work as an electrical and electronic engineer at the Hospital Engineering Limited from January 2002. He then left for the United Kingdom in August 2004 to pursue a Masters programme in Medical Electronics and Physics at the University of London.

He returned to the Hospital Engineering Limited in Ghana as the Service Manager. He was also a Consultant to the Hospital Engineering GmbH, which was the mother company in Germany. During this period, he had hands-on technical training at several medical equipment manufacturers in Germany and a number of European Countries.

In August 2008, Hospital Engineering Limited and Hospital Engineering GmbH restructured their operations so the technical department was outsourced to another Company then known as Mediwise International Company Limited. Nana Yaw Appiah became the first Technical Manager of Mediwise until he resigned in November 2009 to start Engisys.

In 2012, Hospital Engineering GmbH in Germany re-establish business relationship with Engisys and signed two contracts with Engisys for the maintenance of all medical equipment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra, and the National Accidents & Emergency Centre, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. Engisys successfully completed both contracts in 2017. He is a biomedical engineering consultant and also the Founder and Managing Director of Engisys.
